The Women

“It's all about men!”

A gossip at a manicure table hears that Mary Haines (Norma Shearer) has been betrayed by her husband, and by the afternoon the whole circle knows, led by Sylvia Fowler (Rosalind Russell). Their advice sends Mary toward a divorce, while the other woman, Crystal Allen (Joan Crawford), waits behind a perfume counter. George Cukor, working from Clare Boothe Luce's play, fills the screen with women and keeps every man out of frame.
