The Women

Mary Haines (Meg Ryan) is a wealthy New Yorker, happily married, with a close circle of friends, including Sylvie Fowler (Annette Bening), who meet at the beauty salon and the fashion shows. Her life starts to come apart when Crystal Allen (Eva Mendes), a shop girl, sets her sights on Mary's husband. Diane English updates the 1939 comedy, and what the women lean on is each other, since a marriage can't hold them up the way their friendships do.
