The Wonders

Gelsomina (Maria Alexandra Lungu), the eldest of four sisters, runs a failing honey farm in the Tuscan countryside under her father Wolfgang (Sam Louwyck). When a small boy is sent to stay with them and a television contest offers money to Italy's most traditional family, she wants to enter. Alice Rohrwacher films the household's close, sun-bleached routine, and Gelsomina's loyalty to her father keeps pulling against her wish to save them.
