The Worthless

Manne (Matti Pellonpää) steals a priceless painting from a gang of petty criminals, and he and his friend Harri (Juuso Hirvikangas) take off across Finland with the gangsters behind them. Along the way they pick up Veera (Pirkko Hämäläinen), an old girlfriend of Harri's, and the three keep driving, trying to stay ahead of the police as well. Mika Kaurismäki, who co-wrote it with his brother Aki, keeps the camera plain and the pace slack, so the road simply goes on.
