The Wounded Man

(1983)Directed by Patrice Chéreau110 minRomance, Crime, Thriller
“Out of the Shadows.”

In a French train station in 1983, Henri (Jean-Hugues Anglade), a withdrawn young man, catches sight of Jean Lerman (Vittorio Mezzogiorno) and cannot stop thinking about him. That brief meeting leads him into a hidden world of desire and danger, one he is not ready for. Patrice Chéreau, who wrote the script with Hervé Guibert, keeps the film close and uneasy, and it won the César for Best Original Screenplay.
