The Wrung-Out Man

In 1980 São Paulo, Deraldo (José Dumont), a poet from Brazil's Northeast, lives off the pamphlets he sells in the street. His days are small and steady until a party where he is given the title of symbolic worker, and then he is taken for a man who killed his boss at a multinational. João Batista de Andrade follows him through the city, Deraldo still holding his pamphlets, the crowds around him thick with strangers.
