“It really happened”

Sgt. Pittman (Ray Lynch) wants a name for the killer who keeps phoning the San Francisco police and mailing them letters, though the murders show no motive and no pattern. Tom Hanson gives him three men to look at: Jerry (Hal Reed), Grover (Bob Jones), and Joe (Frank Sanabek), a violent truck driver, a mild-mannered mailman, and even a cop. The letters keep arriving, and Pittman sits with them in the station, waiting for the phone to ring.
