Theatre of Blood

(1973)Directed by Douglas Hickox104 minComedy, Horror
“It's curtains for his critics!”

The members of a London critics' circle are dying, and each death is staged to match a murder from Shakespeare. Peregrine Devlin (Ian Hendry) and his colleagues begin to see who is behind it: Edward Lionheart (Vincent Price), the stage actor they once passed over for the year's top award. Douglas Hickox plays it as grand, florid tragedy, where an actor's need to be taken seriously turns into the thing that kills.
