There's Only One Jimmy Grimble

Jimmy Grimble (Lewis McKenzie) is dragged through the corridors of his Manchester school by bullies, then goes home to his mother Donna (Gina McKee) and her new boyfriend. A pair of old boots, once worn by a Manchester City great, changes how he moves on the pitch, and a teacher, Eric Wirral (Robert Carlyle), takes notice. John Hay builds toward the local schools cup final around one idea: a frightened kid can start to believe in himself.
