Thérèse (Catherine Mouchet) wants to give her whole life to Jesus, and she does it by entering a Carmelite convent alongside her sisters. Alain Cavalier tells her story in short, spare scenes, with the nuns speaking in plain modern language and no choirs, no showy lights, no miracles. Her idea is the "little way," that holiness is reached through small, ordinary acts of devotion rather than grand ones.
