“My name is Ángela. They're going to kill me.”

Ángela (Ana Torrent) is writing her thesis on audiovisual violence when she comes across a snuff tape in which a girl is tortured to death. The victim turns out to have studied at her own university, and the people who made the tape may still be close by. Amenábar, making his feature debut, keeps the camera tight on Ángela's face and lets the dread build in the quiet between scenes.
