They Made Me a Fugitive

“Gangway for Gangland's Blazing Guns!”

A policeman is dead, and Clem Morgan (Trevor Howard) is the man sent down for it, though he knows the real killer walked away. He breaks out of prison with one aim, to get at Narcy (Griffith Jones), and Sally Connor (Sally Gray) is drawn into his path. Alberto Cavalcanti's film ends on Clem himself, soaked and cornered in the dark.
