“Misery loves company.”

Arthur (Tony Shalhoub), a widower with two children, inherits his dead uncle's estate and moves the family into a glass house with a nanny and an attorney. Steve Beck fills the place with etched Latin on the walls, turning gears, and a dozen ghosts held behind its panes. The house is a machine built from the dead, and the family is inside it with a ghost hunter, Rafkin (Matthew Lillard), and an activist, Kalina (Embeth Davidtz).
