Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould

(1993)Directed by François Girard93 minDrama, Music
“The sound of genius.”

Glenn Gould (Colm Feore) walks off the concert stage at thirty-one and never plays for a paying audience again, retreating into studios and recordings. François Girard builds the film from thirty-two short pieces, among them Gould as a child at the keyboard (Devon Anderson, Joshua Greenblatt), his parents, and the pianist alone with his work. Each piece holds a different side of him, and each is cut short before it can explain him.
