This Christmas

(2007)Directed by Preston A. Whitmore II117 min · PG-13Comedy, Drama, Romance
“You can't exchange family.”

Shirley Ann Whitfield (Loretta Devine), called Ma'Dere by her grown children, wants one thing this year: all of them under her roof for Christmas, for the first time in years. Preston A. Whitmore II brings the siblings home, Quentin (Idris Elba) among them, each carrying a secret. If the house stays loud and full, the family might hold together, and if it doesn't, the secrets will be what gets passed around the table.
