This Gun for Hire

“A Lone Wolf…dynamite with a girl or a gun!”

Philip Raven (Alan Ladd), a hired killer, finishes a job and finds he has been paid in marked bills. He boards a train to find the nightclub executive Gates (Laird Cregar), who set him up, and ends up in the seat beside Ellen Graham (Veronica Lake), Gates' newest employee. Ellen is engaged to Det. Michael Crane (Robert Preston), the lieutenant chasing Raven, and every mile brings the three of them closer.
