This is My Mother

Pierre (William Lebghil), a successful florist, hasn't seen his mother Judith (Agnès Jaoui) in two years when she suddenly appears at his door, escaped from a clinic and mercurial with want. He assumes he can return her quickly and reclaim his orderly life, but she has other plans. Carpentier captures their collision in scenes that fracture between laughter and raw exposure, the camera staying close enough to catch what neither of them can quite say.
