“What Was Their Guilt?”

Georges de Sarre (Francis Lacombrade) is fourteen, and at his Jesuit boarding school the priests have a name for the kind of attachment he is drawn to, "special friendships," and a rule against them. Jean Delannoy follows him as Alexandre Motier (Didier Haudepin), a twelve-year-old new to the school, begins to seek him out. The two boys keep the closeness gentle and unspoken, while Father Lauzon (Louis Seigner) watches from the other side of the walls.
