This Transient Life

Masao (Ryo Tamura) lives near a remote Buddhist monastery, and he has fallen in love with his sister Yuri (Michiko Tsukasa), who is now pregnant by him. When a monk learns of it, Masao takes work as an assistant to Mori (Eiji Okada), a master sculptor, and the affairs he starts there only tangle his life further. Akio Jissoji, in his first feature, leaves the monastery and its pregnant sister waiting at the edge of everything Masao does.
