Thou Wast Mild and Lovely

“Everything else was a surprise”

The farm in Kentucky feels wrong before anyone says why, in the way the farmer Jeremiah (Robert Longstreet) watches his daughter Sarah (Sophie Traub) whenever another person comes near her. Then Akin (Joe Swanberg) arrives to work the land, and the quiet arrangement between father and daughter begins to shift. Josephine Decker lets the three of them share the same few rooms and fields, and each of them risks losing a place on the farm.
