“The Memorable World of Italian Dreams... The Private World of Three Brothers”

Raffaele Giuranna (Philippe Noiret) is a judge in Rome, working under the threat of political violence. His brothers are Rocco (Vittorio Mezzogiorno), who counsels troubled youths in Naples, and Nicola (Michele Placido), a factory worker in Turin with labor disputes and a troubled marriage. Francesco Rosi gathers the three in their mother's house in southern Italy after her death, where an old father, long apart from his sons, sits with them again.
