“You've Never Lived Until You've Loved in Rome!”

Rome, 1954: three American women share an apartment and work as secretaries at a government agency, each with her own idea of what the city owes her. Jean Negulesco follows Frances (Dorothy McGuire), Anita (Jean Peters) and Maria (Maggie McNamara) to the Trevi Fountain, where each tosses in a coin and wishes for the man of her dreams. Frances has her eye on her employer, the novelist John Frederick Shadwell (Clifton Webb), and means to win him.
