Three Smart Girls

(1936)Directed by Henry Koster84 minComedy, Romance, Music
“They SAY nothing They HEAR nothing They SEE nothing but KNOW everything!”

Penny Craig (Deanna Durbin) is the youngest of three sisters, and the one who sings loudest and plans hardest. When she hears their divorced father, Judson (Charles Winninger), is about to marry Donna Lyons (Binnie Barnes), she and her sisters Kay and Joan head for New York to stop the wedding and bring their parents back together. Henry Koster, in one of his first American films, lets Durbin sing as if it were the most natural way to talk.
