“In the world of Judo, failure is not an option.”

Sze-To Bo (Louis Koo) was once a judo champion, and he wants the chance to be one again, though now he only drinks and gambles. Johnnie To follows him as he befriends Tony (Aaron Kwok Fu-shing), a fighter who arrives wanting to challenge him, and Mona (Cherrie Ying Choi-yi), a young woman who dreams of singing. What grows between the former champion and the stranger who came to fight him matters more than any match.
