Thunderbolt and Lightfoot

“Thunderbolt… the man with the reputation. Lightfoot… the kid who's about to make one!”

A preacher in a small Montana church is shot at in the middle of a sermon, and no one can say why. He is Thunderbolt (Clint Eastwood), a bank robber in disguise, and he survives only because Lightfoot (Jeff Bridges), a young car thief, happens to drive him away. Michael Cimino sends the two across the back roads together, and Thunderbolt, old gang hunting him, keeps looking over his shoulder.
