Tieta of Agreste

Tieta (Sonia Braga) was thrown out of her native Bahian village 26 years ago, and now she wants to come home. Her sister Perpétua (Marília Pêra) and the rest of the villagers have no idea what her return will stir up. Carlos Diegues, adapting Jorge Amado's novel, puts the whole local order at risk the moment she steps off the road.
