“Maddie wanted a father. She found a hero.”

Maddie Dolan (Hayden Panettiere) wants her father to turn down the promotion to command and take a shore job, so he can finally be home. She is one of the Navy relatives aboard the USS Constellation for the last stretch from Pearl Harbor to San Diego. Duwayne Dunham sets the film on the carrier in 2001, among the crew and the kids on board, as the news that reaches the ship starts to change who she can ask for what.
