“Witness the power of a mother’s love.”

Mamie Till-Mobley (Danielle Deadwyler) is a Chicago educator who wants only to keep her son safe, even as she lets 14-year-old Emmett (Jalyn Hall) travel to visit his cousins in Mississippi in the summer of 1955. What she does after he is taken from her is the story Chinonye Chukwu tells. Chukwu stays close on Deadwyler's face and lets each scene run as long as the grief does.
