“H.G. Wells Races Through Time To Catch Jack The Ripper!”

A time machine Wells built is gone from his London house, and the one man who could have taken it is the surgeon he suspects of being Jack the Ripper. H. G. Wells (Malcolm McDowell) follows him into the 20th century, landing in San Francisco, where he meets a bank clerk, Amy Robbins (Mary Steenburgen), and John Leslie Stevenson (David Warner) is already loose. Nicholas Meyer, directing for the first time, plays the whole chase straight.
