Tin Cup

“Golf Pro. Love Amateur.”

Out past the edge of Salome, Texas, Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy (Kevin Costner) runs a beat-up driving range, a washed-up golf pro who drinks and hustles to get by. Then Dr. Molly Griswold (Rene Russo) shows up for a lesson, she is the girlfriend of his old rival David Simms (Don Johnson), and Roy decides he has to qualify for the US Open. Ron Shelton lets the two of them trade barbs and glances until the golf matters less than she does.
