To Hell and Back
“Rejected by the Marines, the Navy, and the Army paratroopers due to his small size and youthful appearance, when he was finally accepted by the army Murphy became the most decorated soldier in U.S. history!!!”
Audie Murphy (Audie Murphy), a small-town kid who looks too slight for the Army, badly wants to be a soldier and keeps pushing to prove he belongs in the fight. Jesse Hibbs tells it from Murphy's own 1949 autobiography and casts Murphy as himself, following him from his first days in uniform through his World War II service. The men around him, Johnson (Marshall Thompson) and Brandon (Charles Drake) among them, become the only family he has.
