Tokyo Sonata

“Every family has its secrets.”

Ryuhei Sasaki (Teruyuki Kagawa) is laid off from his office job and cannot bring himself to tell his wife, Megumi (Kyoko Koizumi), or their two sons. He keeps leaving the house each morning in his suit, and the secret sits in the family while each of them starts hiding a private life of their own. Kiyoshi Kurosawa films the household at a patient distance and lets the cracks spread slowly.
