“He's only 5 1/2 inches high, but he's terrific!”

Tom Thumb (Russ Tamblyn) is a boy no bigger than a thumb who wants to be treated like anyone else, and he has a mother and father who love him and a forest queen (June Thorburn) who watches over him. Two thieves, Ivan (Terry-Thomas) and Antony (Peter Sellers), see only a small fortune waiting to be pocketed. George Pal, the producer-director, adapts the Brothers Grimm tale as a musical for MGM.
