Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) is on a boat heading for a storm-hit island, chasing the last known trail of her father, Richard Croft (Dominic West), who vanished years ago. She has refused his fortune and the family name, and now she has to push past what she thought she could do. Roar Uthaug keeps the film moving at a sprint, with Vikander doing most of the climbing, falling and running herself.
