Tony Takitani

Tony Takitani (Issey Ogata) has spent his whole life alone, working as an illustrator and wanting nothing from anyone, until he meets Eiko (Rie Miyazawa), a young woman who cannot stop buying clothes. Jun Ichikawa adapts Haruki Murakami's short story with a narrator (Hidetoshi Nishijima) who speaks about Tony from a short distance. Tony sits at his drawing table, the clothes hanging in the next room.
