Tora-san, Our Lovable Tramp

“Japan's most beloved loser.”

Tora-san (Kiyoshi Atsumi), a traveling peddler, was thrown out of his father's house twenty years ago and has been drifting ever since. Now he turns up again to see his aunt, uncle and sister Sakura (Chieko Baisho), who have to make room for him. Yoji Yamada puts him at a marriage meeting, drunk and loud, and his family has to decide how much of his chaos they can live with.
