In 1953 Broadway, Jenny Stewart (Joan Crawford) is a musical star who takes notes from no one and runs every rehearsal her way. Charles Walters shoots her numbers in saturated Technicolor, all red and gold. Then a blind pianist, Tye Graham (Michael Wilding), sits down at her piano and answers her back, and she has to decide whether to let anyone close.
