Torch Song Trilogy

“It takes a lot of guts and a helluva sense of humor to live life in Arnold's shoes.”

Why does Arnold Beckoff (Harvey Fierstein), a female impersonator in 1970s New York, keep falling for men who can't love him back? Then he meets Alan (Matthew Broderick), and the two start talking about adopting a child. Paul Bogart stages the years that follow around Arnold's mother (Anne Bancroft), who has never accepted his life and is ready to say so.
