“Was he her dream or obsession? Was she his mother or his lover?”

A young man (Gary Oldman) turns up in front of Linda Henry (Theresa Russell) and says he is the baby she gave up as a teenager. Her husband Henry (Christopher Lloyd) has little time for her, spending his waking hours on an enormous model train set. Nicolas Roeg lets the house fill with the three of them, and Linda leans on Martin harder as the marriage goes quiet around her.
