“No one gets away clean”
Robert Wakefield (Michael Douglas) has just been named the country's new drug czar, and he wants to win the war he has been handed. Then he finds out his well-educated daughter Caroline (Erika Christensen) is using cocaine in their comfortable suburban home, while a Mexican policeman and a trafficker's wife are pulled into the same trade from other sides. Steven Soderbergh cuts between the separate stories and gives each its own color and grain.
