“The laughs are bumper to bumper!”

Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati), head designer at the Altra Automotive Company, sets out from Paris with a camper car crammed with outrageous extras, bound for the auto show in Amsterdam. With him ride the company's manager and its publicity model, Maria (Maria Kimberly), and the road throws one odd delay after another in their way. Tati, directing, keeps the camera at a patient distance, and the drivers stay boxed in their windshields.
