Training Day

“The only thing more dangerous than the line being crossed, is the cop who will cross it.”

Jake (Ethan Hawke) is a young LAPD officer who gets his shot at narcotics the morning he is paired with Alonzo (Denzel Washington), a veteran detective with a reputation. Antoine Fuqua sends the two through Westlake, Echo Park and South Central over a single twenty-four-hour stretch, with Alonzo setting the terms from the driver's seat. By the end of the first hour, Jake is watching the man he was told to learn from, and Alonzo is watching him back.
