Trainspotting

“Choose life.”

Renton (Ewan McGregor) and his friends are deep in Edinburgh's heroin scene, chasing the drug's oblivion as a way out of their lives. When one of them dies and another spirals, Renton tries to quit, but the pull of his crew and the numbness they offer keeps dragging him back. He lies on a bare mattress in a rented room, the money from a betrayal folded in his pocket, and stares at nothing.
