Transit

A dead writer's papers are enough to get a man out of France, so Georg (Franz Rogowski) takes them and becomes him. Christian Petzold sets Anna Seghers's 1944 novel in the present, and Georg waits out the days in Marseilles, where he meets Marie (Paula Beer), a young woman searching for her missing husband. Everyone in the city is stuck waiting for a ticket, a stamp, or a ship, and the film keeps asking who gets to leave.
