“The richest adventure of them all”

After the Civil War, young Davie (Johnny Doran) leaves Kentucky as the unexpected heir to a family secret, a map to buried treasure on the Florida isle of Matecumbe. Vincent McEveety sends him south with Jim (Robert Foxworth) and the old doctor Snodgrass (Peter Ustinov), with Spangler (Vic Morrow) on the trail behind them. The last thing the film shows is a beached shipwreck at Discovery Island.
