Trial on the Road

In 1942, behind enemy lines, a band of Soviet partisans picks up a former Red Army lieutenant named Lazarev (Vladimir Zamanskiy), still wearing a German uniform. He says he wants to fight on their side again, and the partisans have to decide whether to believe a man who served the enemy. Aleksei German, working in 1971 and banned until 1986, sets this against Lokotkov (Rolan Bykov), the partisan who has to judge him.
