“His friends call him Mr. T. His enemies call for mercy!”

Mr. T (Robert Hooks) is a private detective in Los Angeles who dresses sharp, moves slow, and settles problems his own way. Chalky Price (Paul Winfield) and Pete Cockrell (Ralph Waite) hire him after masked men start robbing their floating crap games, and a collector's death soon points toward a gang war. Ivan Dixon shoots the back rooms and rain-dark streets in grainy 70s color, with Marvin Gaye's score running underneath.
