Troubled Water

Nobody in the Norwegian town knows why Jan Thomas (Pål Sverre Hagen), freshly paroled, has taken a job as the church organist, or what he did before he went away. Erik Poppe lets the question sit over his early weeks, while the quiet man learns the instrument and settles into the choir loft. His closest tie there is with Agnes (Trine Dyrholm), the priest, and her young son, and the three of them grow easy with each other.
