True Confession

“THEY'RE ON ANOTHER BENDER!”

Helen Bartlett (Carole Lombard) writes for a living and wants her husband's law practice to pay the bills, but Kenneth (Fred MacMurray) is too scrupulous to take any case he doubts, so she goes to work as a secretary. Her employer is murdered, and she can't decide whether she did it. Wesley Ruggles sets this up as a comedy about a woman whose habit of telling stories gets harder to separate from the truth.
