Four teenage boys in Nazi Germany begin printing and distributing leaflets that tell the truth about the war. Helmuth Hübener (Ewan Horrocks) leads the effort alongside Erwin Mussener (Rupert Evans), Karl-Heinz Schnibbe (Ferdinand McKay), and Rudi Wobbe (Daf Thomas), each knowing what capture would mean. Whitaker builds the dread steadily as the Gestapo closes in, and the film becomes a portrait of how young conviction confronts the machinery of state terror.
